Robert Vivar's story begins in Tijuana, Mexico, where he was born. At just six months old, Robert was brought to the United States by his family, and he grew up embracing the American values of freedom, service, and community. The U.S. became his home, a place where he built his life and forged his identity.

However, like many others, Robert faced legal challenges that eventually led to his deportation. This unexpected turn of events forced him to leave behind the country he had known and loved for nearly his entire life. Thrust into a challenging and unfamiliar situation in Tijuana, Robert could have succumbed to the difficulties that surrounded him. Instead, he chose a path of resilience and advocacy.

Understanding the unique struggles of deported veterans—men and women who had served the U.S. with honor but were now living in a country they barely knew—Robert became a tireless advocate for their rights. He co-founded the Unified U.S. Deported Veterans Resource Center, a beacon of hope located in Tijuana. The center provides essential services such as legal assistance, medical care, and emotional support, all while fostering a sense of community among veterans who feel abandoned by the country they served.

Under Robert's leadership, the Resource Center has become a sanctuary for deported veterans, offering them a place to find comfort, resources, and a community that understands their struggles. Beyond the day-to-day operations of the center, Robert is a passionate advocate for policy change. He works tirelessly to bring attention to the plight of deported veterans and campaigns for their right to return to the United States, the country they served and consider home.
